Sunday 05th April 2026, Sunday Social Run meet at 7.30am Penshaw Monument for a social run around the Trail Outlaws 'Half Marathon' route  -   postcode DH47NJ, what 3 words: lance.orders.rails


Friday 10th April 2026, Derwent Valley Trail Runners entered the world of gym competitions by entering 'GymSync' at the Apex Ability Gym in Dipton, County Durham. 

Club members Katie Purvis, Jordan Rumbles, Paul Feeley, Jonny Parker and Gaynor Sutherland all took part. Nationally the DVTR team finished 156th from 199 team entries.

Saturday 11th April 2026 is the 'Greener Miles' - Stanhope 10km and Half Marathon trail races. Good luck to Harry Tatham who has entered the 10km race and Tom King who has entered the half marathon. The entry price for the 10km is £22 and for the half marathon £30 for anybody who is interested. Click on the button below for details...  

Congratulations to Harry Tatham who finished 10th from 99 participants in the 10km event in a time of 57mins 55secs. Congratulations also go out to Tom King who finished 67th from 94 participants in the 15 mile event in a time of 2hrs 52mins.  


Saturday 11th April 2026 - LSD Backyard Ultra in Morpeth Northumberland. DVTR member Nathan Somersall took part in the event and completed 14 incredible laps, 57.84 miles in a time of 11hrs 17mins ! !


Thursday 16th April 2026 was our 'away day' training session this month hosted by Tom King. This was a 5.2km session in the wilds of 'New Kyo' ....


On Saturday 18th April 2026, Jon Daniels and Dave Edwards headed out to meet Megan Boxall, who is currently running the entire circumference of Great Britain. They joined Megan for Day 183 of her incredible journey, covering the North Seaton to Newcastle leg. We wish her all the best on her onward journey.

Sunday 19th April 2026 is the Sunday Social 13 mile run organised by David Edwards. Meet 8am at the 'Tyne Riverside Cafe', Prudhoe NE426NP (free car park) - what3words announced.voting.ventures . The terrain is 60% trail and 40% road.

Saturday 25th April 2026 - Derwent Valley Trail Runners had our regular volunteer takeover at Chopwell Wood Parkrun with x11 members making up the vast majority of the volunteers. Big thank you to Stefan Ward, Dyllan Pickavance, Ian Bainbridge, Jim Rickard, Jon Daniels, Jordan Rumbles, Katie Purvis, Kate Donnelly, Lee Milmore, Paul Feeley and Tom King for their support. Sunday 26th April 2026 is the 'Shakespeare Marathon' in Stratford Upon Avon. The event boasts a half marathon and marathon race. Good luck to Jonny Parker who has entered the marathon event. Click on the button below for details...

Results: from a field of 1693 runners, our very own Jonny Parker finished the marathon in 31st position a time of 2hrs 55mins 17secs. Incredible effort and a road marathon PB for Jonny. Smashed It !!


Sunday 26th April 2026 is the Trail Outlaws 'Washington 10km' trail race which is part of Outlaws - 'Urban Trail Series'. The event boasts a 10km and 5km race. Good luck to DVTR member Ian Bainbridge who has entered the 10km race.  Click the button below for details...

Results: Congratulations to Ian Bainbridge who from a field of 276 runners finished in 77th position in a time of 58mins 03 seconds. Awesome result Ian !!


Sunday 26th April 2026 is the London Marathon. Representing Derwent Valley Trail Runners at the event this year is DVTR member Jack Siddoway. Everybody at the club wishes Jack the very best of luck at this prestigious road marathon event.

Results: Well done to Jack Siddoway who completed the London Marathon in a time of 3hrs 03mins, finishing in 3881 position from a field of 56,640 runners. Wow, well done Jack !!
