Tuesday 09th June 2026 - This year is the 44th 'The Blaydon Races' event. Entry is via ballot only. Good luck to Harry Tatham who has entered the event. The Blaydon Race was first held in 1981, the 5.9 mile route is based on the lyrics to the 1862 song by George 'Geordie' Ridley - 'The Blaydon Races'. A celebration of the North East's running community, local culture and heritage, The Blaydon Race is organised by Blaydon Harrier and Athletics Club. Details of the event can be found below..
Saturday 13th June 2026 is the Swaledale Marathon. The annual Swaledale Marathon passes through some of Swaledale's finest scenery. The 24 mile course is a fell run / challenge walk event - competitors must navigate themselves and complete the course within 10 hours. It has been organised by Swaledale Outdoor Club since 1979. Sunday 14th June 2026 is the Hardmoors 'Wainstones' Trail Marathon. The route is 28.5miles in distance with 5,574 feet of elevation across the North Yorkshire Moors. Competitors must navigate themselves however a GPS file is available to download. and complete the course within 10 hours. Good luck to Paul Feeley who is participating in the event. Saturday 20st June 2026 is the Rat Race event 'The Wall'. Take on the most iconic UK ultramarathon and conquer 70 stunning miles through historic Hadrian's Wall country in a continuous, fully supported, and waymarked journey or so the website states ! Saturday 20st June 2026 is the Greener Miles event 'The Hopper'. This is a 6, 12 or 24 hour event in which participants aim to complete as many of the 4.2 mile loops of the course within their time limit.
