Saturday 10th January 2026 congratulations to Tom SCOTT who completed the Cold Brew Events 'Winter Wipeout' race in the Cheviots, Northumberland. The 14.5 mile route starts in Ingram and heads up to Hedgehope Hill before returning back to Ingram. Tom completed the race in 88th place in a time of 4:12:31.

Thursday 15th January 2026 is our monthly 'away day' training session. Once a month the club's Thursday training session is moved to a location organised by one of club's members. This month the away day is being organised by Jon Daniels. Meet at 'Kings Head' pub Lanchester at 18.10hrs or Malton picnic area (see google maps) at 18.30hrs. Session will be 6 miles / 500ft elevation.
Sunday 18th January 2026 a 11-12 mile social run has been organised to start at 'The Land of Oak and Iron' heritage site followed by breakfast at a local cafe. Start time 7.45am at 'The Land of Oak & Iron' cafe. It is a 12mile route / 1047ft elevation.
Saturday 24th January 2026, DVTR members will be volunteering at Chopwell Wood parkrun. All club members attending are encouraged to wear club colours. Leaflets will be handed out at the parkrun to anybody who is interested advertising our up and coming 'Derwent Valley Trail Relays' event.
Saturday 31st January 2026 is the NEHL cross country race at Temple Park Leisure Centre in South Shields. This is the one race on the cross country calendar that isn't a team event. Points are awarded to each runner towards the 'Individual Grand Prix' league table only.
Saturday 14th February 2026 a number of members have entered the 'Trail Outlaws' - Three Forts Trail Challenge. This new race is a 13.5 mile race set in the Cheviot Hills. The cost of entering is £37.55. Trail Outlaws are offering a 15% discount if you book during January 2026 using code 'JAN2026'. For more details of the event click here
Sunday 1st March 2026, at 17.00hrs entries open for the 2027 Hardmoors 15 & 30 trail races. Both races will take place on Saturday 9th January 2027. They are extremely popular events and being so close to the New Year places will sell out very quickly. If you would like to enter one of these races, entries will open at 17.00hrs on Sunday 1st March 2026. For more details please click on the links below.
