Seaton Sluice Social Run
On Sunday 19th July 2026, Jim Rickard took the club to Seaton Sluice for a cracking 12.5‑mile outing. The route began on the coast, immediately heading down onto the beach (why not !) dodging a particularly angry north sea swell before turning inland, following the sluice towards Holywell and the surrounding trails.
A mix of shoreline, village paths, and countryside made for a varied and memorable run — classic DVTR terrain with a bit of everything thrown in.

And of course, a social run wouldn't be complete afterwards without the obligatory breakfast. This week, a full breakfast was the order of the day, enjoyed outside at Castaways Café, overlooking the sea. Sun, salt air and plates piled high of sausage, egg, bacon and beans, the perfect finish to a coastal Sunday. Nice one Jimmy Rickard ...
