Trail Outlaws

Trail Outlaws are a North‑East of England based trail running events company, known for staging fun, inclusive, and well‑organised races across some of the region's most scenic landscapes. They offer everything from 5Ks and 10Ks to marathons and ultramarathons, with a strong emphasis on community, accessibility, and adventure.
Formed in 2014 by local ultra runner and former Derwent Valley Trail Runner Tim Bateson, Trail Outlaws has grown in popularity showcasing several well-known signature events in the race calender.
Trail Outlaws Select Events
07/03/26 - 08/03/26 Dark Skies Kielder
Night time trail running series based at Kielder Reservoir. Trail Outlaws offer a unique experience and running challenge like no other. Kielder reservoir is set in a waterside park. That is actively maintained and shared with the public by Northumbrian Water - Living Water.
Distances at the events range from 10K to marathon distance.
Urban Trail Series
The Trail Outlaws Urban Trail Series (UTS) of events are aimed at giving runners of all abilities the chance to have fun or race on local trails. All our races are fully marked and marshalled to help you on your way. The series includes:

11/07/26 St Cuthberts Way 100km & 45m Ultra
The Saint Cuthbert's Way 100km Ultra is a race against the tide ! Bridging the national borders between Scotland and England, the race starts at the historic town of Melrose in the Scottish Borders and finishes at Holy Island in an area of outstanding natural beauty on the Northumberland coast. The route follows a way marked path heading Eastwards crossing large sections of the beautiful Scottish Borders region and the Northumberland National Park finishing at Holy Island. But will you arrive on Holy Island before the tide?
The Saint Cuthbert's Way 45m Ultra bridges the national borders between Scotland and England. The race starts at the historic town of Melrose in the Scottish Borders and finishes at Wooler in Northumberland. The route follows a way marked path heading Eastwards crossing large sections of the beautiful Scottish Borders region and the Northumberland National Park. The race finishes at at the lovely market place town of Wooler.
